SUMMARY:International Conference of Social Robotics
DESCRIPTION:The Eight International Conference on Social Robotics (ICSR 2016) brings together researchers and practitioners working on the interaction between humans and robots and on the integration of robots into our society. The theme of the 2016 conference is "Sociorobotics." Robots will improve quality of human life through assistance\, enabling for instance independent living or providing support in work-intensive\, difficult and possibly complex situations. The conference aims to foster discussion on the development of computational models\, robotic embodiments\, and behavior that enable social robots to have an impact on the degree of personalized companionship with humans.\nThe conference welcomes original contributions describing technically rigorous scientific and philosophical advances in the area of social robotics: Innovative ideas and concepts\, new discoveries and improvements\, novel applications on the latest fundamental advances in the core technologies that form the backbone of social robotics\, distinguished developmental projects\, as well as seminal works in aesthetic design\, ethics and philosophy\, studies on social impact and influence pertaining to social robotics\, and its interaction and communication with human beings and its social impact on our society.\n\nThe topics of interest include\, but are not limited to the following:\n\n\n	Interaction and collaboration among robots\, humans\, and environments\n	Robots with personality\n	Robots that can adapt to different users\n	Robots to assist the elderly and persons with disabilities\n	Socially assistive robots to improve quality of life\n	Affective and cognitive sciences for socially interactive robots\n	Personal robots for the home\n	Social acceptance and impact in the society\n	Robot ethics in human society\n	Context awareness\, expectation\, and intention understanding\n	Control architectures for social robotics\n	Socially appealing design methodologies\n	Safety in robots working in human spaces\n	Human augmentation\, rehabilitation\, and medical robots\n	Robot applications in education\, entertainment\, and gaming\n\n\nThe Proceedings of the Eight International Conference on Social Robotics (ICSR 2016) will be published by Springer International Publishing as part of the Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence series (LNAI). Selected papers will be invited for publication as a Special Issue in the International Journal of Social Robotics (Fall 2017).\n\nCall for Papers\n\nCall for Papers (pdf).\n\nKeynote Speakers\n\nProfessor Maja Mataric\, Chan Soon-Shiong Professor of Computer Science\, Neuroscience\, and Pediatrics at University of Southern California\n\n \n\nProfessor Brian Scassellati\, Professor of Computer Science\, Cognitive Science\, and Mechanical Engineering at Yale University\n\nSponsors\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n Contact\n For any correspondance\, email to ICSR web contact: info@icsr2016.org.\n --> \n\n\n\n\nTweets about\n\nSocial Robotics\n\n\n\nConnect with ICSR\n\n\n \n\nFollow ICSR2016 on Twitter\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin International Network on Social Robotics\n\n\n\n\n\nView International Journal on Social Robotics\n\n\nTweets by @icsr2014\n!function(d\,s\,id){var js\,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]\,p=/^http:/.test(d.location)?'http':'https'\;if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s)\;js.id=id\;js.src=p+"://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js"\;fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js\,fjs)\;}}(document\,"script"\,"twitter-wjs")\;\n -->\n\n \n\n\n\n 2016 International Conference
