Production Engineer
The SBS division of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has an exciting opportunity for a Production Engineer. The Production Engineer position is responsible for tier 3 high level service issues, tasks, and projects associated with the continued support of the SBS production system. The level of incidents and situations is at a very high level of importance and severity. These incidents include issues that are often Priority 1 or at a higher technical level associated with overall system efficiencies. This is a full-time remote position, in a positive and flexible environment. Residency within 100 miles of the Kansas City, Missouri office is required.
Responsibilities Include

Provides production support at a third-tier level with prioritization of escalated production issues, incidents, and problem tickets.

Coordinates internal assignments/activities, and initiates/lead cross-organizational release initiatives.

Coordinates efforts to resolve system wide issues including overseeing communication to users, keeping staff up-to-date and working with developers and other resources on resolutions.

Mentors and trains other support staff with demanding and difficult support tasks (Automic, code log review, Dynatrace analysis, etc.).

Collaborates with SBS Managers, Product Leads, Business Analysts, Data Analysts, Software Quality Engineers, and Software Engineers to identify issues related to production.

Demonstrates initiative and is proactive about issues and provides necessary communication to management.

Analyzes potential trends, relays this information to the appropriate team and proposes support solutions to resolve recurring issues.
Management Responsibilities
This position does not have direct reports.
Minimum Education and/or Experience Required

Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s in applied science specific to computer science and 10+ years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Ability to write complex queries and scripts in SQL plus.

Ability to read and understand code logging and Dynatrace logs to help support issue resolutions and trends associated with performance.

Schedule
Remote. While this position qualifies for a fully remote schedule, you may be required to come into the office for ongoing meetings, events or training.
Some weekend and evening work and tasks are required and expected.
Travel Requirements
This position requires occasional, out-of-state, overnight travel in support of member meetings and events throughout the year. Must be able and willing to travel to locations throughout the United States and with such frequency as necessary to meet the needs of this position and the Association.
Compensation
$107,000- 149,000 commensurate with education and experience.
